Visit this free event in downtown Lakeport June 30, 2018 and watch riders from all over California push themselves to the limit for prizes and glory.
Criterium racing has gained huge popularity in the US, and for good reason. This is fast-paced, non-stop action from start to finish as cyclists race on a short loop course on closed city streets. Races are 30-90 minutes long, with riders completing a lap in approximately two minutes–so you can see the action throughout the race from anywhere on course.
This is a bike race made for spectators, and it won’t disappoint. Enjoy our festival-like atmosphere complete with a beer garden and music. Admission is free, and racing happens all day long.
For those new to bike racing: amateur racers in the USA are categorized from 1 (experts) to 5 (beginners), with an additional category for professional racers.
Some races are age-limited as well, so the 35+ 3/4 race is for category 3 or 4 racers who are 35 years or older.
Free kids race at 3:20PM!
Bring your bike and enjoy a short race which covers part of the main race course.
